Wild Foraged Golden Oyster Mushrooms

from $5.00

Deliciously sweet and nutty these mushrooms have a bit of a story to tell.  Native to Asia, they are a popular wild edible mushroom.  Golden oysters are easily cultivated for home grow kits, however they have escaped the home growing operation and our are now fruiting in our woodlands. Their presence as a non-native species are competing with our native mushroom populations and this will certainly change what foragers and hikers see fruiting in the future. Regardless of their non-native status, these  beautiful mushrooms are sweet and nutty in flavor and have a great texture. With such a versatile flavor these are easily incorporated into any dish that calls for mushrooms.
